Ray’s The Steaks, a Washington (or Arlington if you’re being pedantic) dining institution is closing its doors, The Washingtonian magazine reports. The restaurant operated for 17 years and was famous for its distinctively prepared fare against a modest, unadorned dining accommodations. Owner and chef Michael Landrum didn’t give a reason for the decision to shutter the business. The company’s casual burger spinoff, Ray’s Hell Burger, will remain open in The District’s Mount Vernon Triangle neighborhood for now.
June 15 will be the last night of operation of Ray’s The Steaks. Reservations currently no longer accepted (only walk ins).
